Frequently Asked Questions
Artwork FAQs
Our preferred format is a vector PDF in CMYK. Other acceptable formats include EPS, SVG, and Adobe Illustrator. If possible, convert fonts to outlines before sending.
We recommend 300 DPI or higher to avoid prints that look pixelated or fuzzy.
A bleed means the design extends past the cut edge to prevent white slivers from showing if the paper shifts slightly during cutting. For most projects, a 1/8″ bleed on all sides provides the best result.
Add 1/8″ to each side of the final size. Example: if your postcard is 4″ x 6″, your artwork should be 4.25″ x 6.25″ with bleed.
If you can’t add bleed, please include a 1/4″ white margin on all sides instead.
Keep important text and key images at least 1/4″ from the edge (and away from folds). Small items like business cards and tickets can sometimes be slightly less, while large items like banners and yard signs should use larger margins since they’re viewed from a distance.
Screens use RGB color (light), while printing uses CMYK (ink). Because of differences in paper, ink, and process, colors can appear different in print than on your monitor. If color accuracy is critical, let us know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
Blue is one of the most difficult colors to reproduce accurately. To avoid a purplish tint, we recommend keeping the Cyan value at least 30% higher than the Magenta value. Also, extremely vibrant screen blues (like RGB 0,0,255) cannot be matched exactly in print.
Sometimes, but JPG/PNG files are often low resolution and may print fuzzy. Send the file and we’ll tell you if it’s suitable for a high-quality print.
Yes. If you don’t have a design, contact us and we’ll discuss your ideas and help bring them to life.
Books & Booklets FAQs
We offer Saddle Stitch books (folded and stapled along the spine), which are great for smaller booklets like programs or catalogs with fewer pages.
To keep it simple, we count the cover separately.
Because Saddle Stitch booklets are made from folded sheets, and each folded sheet creates 4 pages. That’s why the inside page count increases by 4.
Because the sheets are not folded—1 sheet equals 2 pages. The cover is still counted separately.
Please send a 1-up PDF (single pages in reading order), with 1/8″ bleed if applicable. We will handle arranging the pages for printing.
If the artwork wraps around the cover of a Saddle Stitch book, please send the cover artwork as a separate file.
Common sizes include 5.5″ x 8.5″ and 8.5″ x 11″, but other sizes are available for special uses.
Paper, Pricing & Turnaround FAQs
We offer a wide range of paper weights—from standard bond and text weights to cover stocks and card stocks—plus multiple finishes and specialty options.
Glossy paper makes colors pop, especially with photos. Matte is a great option for items that need to be written on (like forms, postcards, and appointment cards).
Yes—specialty stocks can include colored paper and textured/deluxe options.
Yes. Our carbonless forms are available in 2–5 parts, allowing writing to copy through to the sheets below.
Pricing depends on several factors, including:
Final product size
Paper preference (matte vs glossy, text weight vs cover weight, etc.)
One-sided or two-sided printing
Black & white or full color
Quantity needed
Whether you’re providing print-ready artwork or need design help
Turnaround times vary by product. Contact us for current lead times for your specific project.
Production starts after final approval is received. If design work is needed, that time is added before production begins.
